My second book in my bookish Advent Calendar is another crime novel – actually more of a psychological thriller. It’s The Guilty Couple by CL Taylor which is the story of a woman who is released from prison having been framed by her husband. She’s now out for revenge. I’m not a great fan of the revenge theme in crime novels but this sounds interesting – I expect we will discover that more than just her husband are responsible for the crime and that revenge isn’t that easy to achieve. My records show that I’ve previously read one book by this author but I only have a vague memory of it – I certainly didn’t hate it but I don’t remember it being a favourite either.
The book has obviously been read but it’s in good enough condition, although not as pristine as yesterday’s book. I also haven’t fallen in love with it immediately as I did Book 1 but I shall certainly give it a go.
