Advent 2025 Book 12 – snow, marriage and murder

Book 12 of my Advent Calendar today and I am half way through. The book in the parcel today is The Winter Killer by Alex Pine which I have read and reviewed (see here). It is the sort of novel I enjoy and I liked reading it so the compiler of my Calendar has obviously hit on the sort of book I like.

This is one of a series of books by this author. There’s a new one each Christmas involving a crime, usually murder, and its investigation by the police, led by DI James Walker. This one involves a murder at a Christmas wedding and because of a snowfall all the suspects remain at the hotel where the crime took place, including a guest who is also a police officer. It’s a quick and easy read, as I remember.

I have read most of these Christmas books now and enjoyed all of them, although where I read them in paper form I haven’t kept the book. I won’t keep this one but I thought that I would read it again as I have a new copy.

My additional gift with this book is a small wooden disc which has a heart cut out from it and the words “little pocket hug” incised on it. I won’t keep it in a pocket but I will stick it to the shelf unit in my study to make me smile when I see it.
