A new challenge for February – books with colours in the titles

Last year I attempted to tackle my pile of unread books by undertaking a series of challenges. For these I took books that met the challenge and read through them and because I had indicated my intention to do so online it gave me the self-discipline that I needed. Usually I choose 25 books to read in three months but in the summer last year I just picked books set in a variety of countries to read over three months (see what I thought about this challenge here).

For February I thought that I would undertake a quick challenge, similar to that of last summer. I have picked out a few books where the title contains a colour and I will see how many of these I can read in February. All the books come from my to-be-read piles of physical books (although I note that I have a few unread books on my Kindle that meet the requirements of this challenge so I might include them). They are from all genres and include some books which are parts of series. I anticipate that I might read 12 to 15 of them in February but I have set no specific target. I shall try and blog as I go along.

I was surprised how many books in my unread piles have a colour in the title. I have found 15 so far, although it is true that most of the titles include “black” or “white” rather than interesting colours – there may be more yet to find. Obviously, I shall not buy new books for this challenge as that would spoil the whole point of the exercise !!

I reserve the right not to read all of the books or even to abandon one or two if I am not enjoying them.

Let my colourful month commence…

    1. I honestly thought I might have more variety of colout than it turned out that I could find in my piles! Anyway, I found plenty of black and white books, as well as a few others. We will see how the month pans out. These challenges really help me clear out some of the books that I haven’t got to in years and I have found some great books that I had previously overlooked.
