Reading by numbers – a new challenge

In February I undertook a quick challenge to reduce my physical to-be-read piles a little bit by reading books with a colour in their title – you can see how I did here.

For June I have decided to do a similar challenge but concentrate on books with a number in the title. As I have so many unread books I found it easy enough to collect a pile together which fit the criterion. Each has a different number in the title but I do not own one book for each number, at least not without purchasing more books which isn’t really the point of the exercise ! I shall, however, try to read them in ascending order, starting with the number two.

I have eleven books in my pile but will probably not get all of them read in a month as some are quite thick. Quite a lot of these books are non-fiction which means that they will take longer to read (more pages, smaller print and longer sentences), but I also have a couple of crime novels in the pile. This is a low-pressure challenge but, like all of them, the aim is to clear away books that have been lingering on my to-be-read pile for far too long. If I am not enjoying a book then I shall not finish it and won’t blog about it.

These challenges often throw out unexpected treasures and new favourites so I very much hope that this one will do the same. Let the counting begin !!
